I'm a freelance writer and producer based in New York City. Self-employed since 1990, I thrive on variety and will consider all types of projects, from short films to Web videos to corporate work.
I'm a journalist by background and initially segued into video production by doing documentary videos, first for a corporate client and later for the Web. I found that I could easily translate my passion for sharing information, my storytelling and editing skills, and my project management experience to visual media as well as print.
Since 2003 I've steadily transitioned to film and video production. I've managed to find a satisfying balance without sacrificing my love of journalism, producing both documentary, news-oriented videos as well as original short films. In 2006 I was listed on IMDB.com.
I also continue to do some editorial work for print publications, including Multichannel News and B&C (Broadcasting & Cable), both weekly newspapers that cover the cable television industry.
I work throughout the tri-state area and am also available for out-of-town projects. I have a deep list of crew contacts and other resources to accommodate any of your project needs. I can work with a wide range of budgets and will help you at any and all stages of development, from initial conception through final cut.
Site Guide
As a writer -- and especially as a filmmaker -- you learn that it's more effective to show than to tell. So, I've built my site around links to my work in an effort to demonstrate my experience and skills rather than just provide you with a long list of accomplishments. My online portfolio consists of three sections:
that I cofounded in 2004 with Aram Bauman. Puffin Films originals have been featured in the 2006 Coney Island Film Festival, the 2007 Boston Underground Film Festival, the 2007 Uovo di Napoli Film Festival and on the SciFi Channel.
